Program of the course period:

We do an average of 2 courses per month.
Number of students per course: 5 maximum.

Course season: September through June.
Elastomer moulding

Day 1: Welcome: Presentation and Molding

    >  General presentation of the Lost Wax
        Casting
    >  Execution of the elstomer and plaster mold.
    >  Realisation of the wax copy.
Making up of the casting mould

Day 2: Beginning

    >  Preparation of sprues and vents.
    >  Completing the mold in which the bronze
        will be poured.
    >  Beginning of the heating of the mold, which will         be completed two days later with the evacuation
        of the wax.

Day 3: Preparation: Patinas and Bronze Colors

    >  Continuation of the heating of the mold.
    >  Bronze tapping exercise into ingot molds.
    >  Bronze patina exercise.
    >  How to create a de-waxing and melting oven.
    >  How to find and price the different materials.
    >  How to calculate the price of a bronze casting.
    >  How to create a small foundry workshop, amateur or
        professional.
    >  Taking necessary safety measures.
    >  Questions / Answers.
Day 4: Birth: Casting of the Bronze, de-molding and touch ups

    >  Tamping of the mold.
    >  Heating of the bronze – method and safety measures.
    >  Every student pours his sculpture assisted by the instructor.
    >  Cooling and de-molding of the bronze (cutting of sprues and vents).
    >  Techniques of artistic chiseling with easy to use tools.

Day 5: Completion

    >  Working on the patina: More than 15
        different patinas will be shown.
    >  Last touch ups and advice for making a
        base for your sculpture (not included in the         course).
    >  Conclusion.
